Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 26, 2026
PrettyPlease is built so the data that matters to you stays on your device. This policy explains exactly what the app touches and what it sends to anyone else (spoiler: it doesn't).
What we collect
Nothing leaves your iPhone. PrettyPlease does not have a server, an account system, or any analytics SDK. We don't see your app selections, your unlock phrases, your voice recordings, or your usage history.
What the app uses on your device
- Screen Time (Family Controls). You pick which apps and categories to protect. Apple's Screen Time framework handles the blocking; PrettyPlease never sees the underlying app identities — just opaque tokens managed by iOS.
- Microphone & Speech Recognition. Used only during the voice-unlock moment to verify you spoke the unlock phrase. Audio is processed on-device by Apple's speech APIs and is not stored or transmitted by PrettyPlease.
-
Local storage. Your blocked-app selections, daily
word reserve, unlock history, and onboarding state are stored in
an on-device SQLite database and in
UserDefaults. This data is only accessible to PrettyPlease itself.
Third parties
PrettyPlease uses no third-party analytics, ad networks, crash reporters, or tracking SDKs. We do not share, sell, or rent data because we do not have data to share.
Children's privacy
PrettyPlease is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from anyone. Because the app stores everything locally and transmits nothing, no personal data about children — or anyone else — is collected by us.
Your rights
Because PrettyPlease keeps everything on your device, you control your data at the OS level: delete the app, and every piece of data PrettyPlease has used is removed with it. There is no remote copy.

Your use of PrettyPlease is also governed by our Terms of Service.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date above will move and a summary of the change will appear here. Material changes that would alter what is stored or transmitted will be called out in the app itself before they take effect.
